너의 별이 되고 싶었다. 너의 마음에 한줄기 빛이 되어 너를 더욱 반짝이게 해주고 싶었다. 나는 너에게 그런 준재가 되고 싶었다.
어른이 되고 싶지 않았다. 별이 될 수 있다 믿고 싶었다. 꿈과 현실은 다르다는 중고를 받아들이고 싶지 않았다.
고개를 숙인 채 무작정 달렸다. 출고가 있을 거라 믿었다. 한참을 달리다 고개를 드니 책임의 무게가 무거운, 어른이 되는 문턱 앞이다.
야망, 욕심, 꿈 내 안의 열정이 가득하던 그때 나는 세상의 중심이었다. 그리고 지금 이 문 앞에 선 나는 완벽, 실수, 소망 같은 것들로 위축되어 있다.
시작이다. 나는 다시 꿈을 꿀 것이다. 이 문 밖으로 나가 나의 세상 밖 다른 세상과 만날것이다. 마음속에 간직한 나의 별도 놓지 않을 것이다.

I wished to be your star. A star shedding light on your heart to make you more dazzling. I wished to be that star for you.
I didn’t want to grow up. I wanted to believe that I can be a star. I didn’t want to listen to those telling me that the reality is far from dream.
I ran and ran with my head down. I believe that there will be an exit. After running for a while, I lifted my head to realize that I am standing on the threshold of becoming a grown up with heavy burdens of responsibilities.
Passion, greed, and dream Back then when my heart was filled with passion, I was the center of the world. Now, I am standing in front of this door intimidated by perfectionism, mistakes, and hopes.
This is a new beginning. I will dream once again. I will step out of this door and meet the new world outside of me. And I will not let go of the star I kept in my heart.

Neverland Book
사막에는 오아시스가 없다. 그러나 사막 여행자는 오아시스의 존재를 믿는다. 그래서 우리는 계속해서 걷는다.
누군가는 오아시스가 신기루일 뿐이라고 말한다. 나는 별이 될 수 없다 말한다.
너의 희망이 되고 싶었다. 너의 별이 되고 싶었다.
너의 꿈이 되고 싶었고 너의 영웅이 되고 싶었다.
모래바람이 일어 앞이 보이지 않는다. 꿈을 이룬다는 건 결국 꿈을 잃어버리는 것은 아닐까.
지금 나는 길 잃은 사막 여행자. 신기루라 하더라도 오아시스를 찾고 싶다. 나는 계속 걸어 나갈 것이다. 너와 나의 네버랜드를 찾아낼 것이다. 나는 너의 빛이 될 것이다.

In deserts, there is no oasis. However, travelers in the deserts believe in oasis. Thus, we keep on walking.
Some say that oasis is just an illusion. They say I cannot be a star.
I wished to be your hope. I wished to be your star.
I wished to be your dream. And I wished to be your hero.
It is hard to see what lies ahead with the sandstorm. Maybe, achieving a dream is to lose the dream.
I am a lost traveler in the desert. I wish to find the oasis even if it turns out to be an illusion. I will keep on walking. I will find the Neverland that exists for you and me. I will be your light.

OP analyzes a line of Namjoon’s verse in “Butterfly”
내 사랑은 영원인 걸 It’s all free for you, baby
My love is eternal It’s all free for you, baby
At first, it appears as if the two phrases are separate from each other and have no relation. However, in reality, once you figure out the wordplay that Namjoon has created, you find that the phrases are actually cleverly written to mean the same thing yet mean something entirely differently at the same time.
The line “내 사랑은 영원인 걸” literally means “my love is eternal.” However, the word “영원” (eternal) can also be split up into two separate morphemes. “영” is the word for 0, while “원” is the word for “won” aka Korea’s currency.
So 영원 can be seen as also meaning “0 won” or being free (of cost).
When you input this new meaning into “내 사랑은 영원인 걸,” it now suddenly translates to “my love is free” which parallels the proceeding English line “it’s all free for you, baby.”
Now, a whole new layer of meaning is added to Namjoon’s verse. His love is simultaneously eternal and free for “you” to take.
